History

Sureline delivers enterprise class server migration and disaster recovery software. The Sureline SUREedge® software scales to enterprise environments with hundreds to thousands of servers efficiently and securely using automated processes. The SUREedge® technology does this with smart data capture, a UI driven migration planning and management process, efficient and secure data movement with deduplication and encryption, and minimal downtime of production applications. Sureline ensures reliable movement of any server, its applications, its data, and interdependencies.

Ravi (Ravender) Goyal - Chairman of the Board, Sureline Systems Founder And CEO

Ravi is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, experienced in envisioning innovative products, building sales, marketing and product teams to design, develop and deliver compelling value to the market from inception to successful exits- IPO and M&A. Prior to co-founding Sureline, he co-founded Datalane, a deep archival enterprise storage system company using Blueray technology, acquired by Hitachi-LG Data Systems. Prior to that, he was an executive staff at the StoreVault division of NetApp (a spin-in), and was instrumental in successful introduction of a NAS storage server for mid-tier market and acquired large number of resellers worldwide. He was Co-founder/CEO of Xpedion Design (acquired by Agilent/HP); Co-founder and Advisor of Tavanza, Inc. (acquired by Anadigics).

He was a member of the founding team at Anadigics, Inc., a world leader in high volume RF chips design and manufacturing for mobile handset with successful IPO. Anadigics shaped the landscape of today’s consumer cellphone handset industry by commoditizing RF chips. Earlier he was Director of Engineering at startup Advanced Cellular Technology (IPO and subsequently acquired by Pacific Telecom). He also worked at Mentor Graphics and National Semiconductor.

A senior member of IEEE, Ravi is a co-author/editor of two books widely prescribed as graduate level textbook worldwide, in several languages. He has co-authored more than 60 peer reviewed technical publications in various IEEE journals and international conferences. He has 3 awarded and 7 pending US patents in the storage and software space.

Ravi holds a Master’s degree in EE & CS from University of Minnesota, MTech in EE from I.I.T. Kanpur, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications from IIT Roorkee, India.

Randy L. Wilhelm - Senior Advisor to CEO, Micron Technology, Inc.

Randy Wilhelm is a 30 year veteran of the semiconductor industry. He currently serves as the Senior Advisor to Micron Technologies. Prior to that, Wilhelm was with Intel for 25 years, where he held multiple executive positions including General Manager of the Wireless Networking Group, General Manager of the Clients Products Group, and Vice President and General Manager of the NAND Memory Group. In 2009, Wilhelm led Intel’s NAND Flash organization to take the lead in NAND technology by delivering the world’s first 34nm NAND memory device. Following that, Intel made another major innovation by delivering the fastest, and most cost effective, Solid State Drive in the world based on 34nm NAND technology. Under Wilhelm’s guidance, Intel is now a leading supplier of client and enterprise Solid State Drives and the unquestioned leader in NAND silicon technology.

Raj Parekh - Founder, ColorTokens

Raj Parekh is a 25+ year veteran of Silicon Valley and is well known for his leadership and vision as a senior executive at leading high technology companies. Raj is the founder of ColorTokens.

Raj has designed and managed the commercialization of over 100 chips in a variety of technologies and markets. He has also led software development in environments ranging from real time embedded to distributed multi-computing in a wide range of systems. In addition, he has led sales, marketing, OEM channels, and divisions within large multi-national companies. Raj holds several U.S. patents and awards for his accomplishments.

He received his Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree from L.D. College of Engineering, India, and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York.

Mark Fitzpatrick - Founder, Fitzform, LLC, Inc.

Mark Fitzpatrick, has over 30 years experience in software technology and computer systems. Mark was the co-founder, CEO, and chief architect of the highly successful High Availability Product FirstWatch that was responsible for keeping all the systems available at the 1994 World Cup Soccer Championships. FirstWatch (Tidalwave Technologies) was acquired by Veritas Software in 1995 and was the #1 High Availability offering on Solaris throughout the 1990s. The eventual market cap value of Tidalwave in Veritas stock was over 500 million dollars (US).

For the past 20 years Mark has focused highly-available software design, architecture and systems implementation with companies such as Data General, NeXT, Sun Microsystems, Inc., Tidalwave Technologies, Inc., and Veritas Software. Mark received his B.S. in Computer Science from California State University, Chico, in 1985. Upon completion of his bachelor’s degree, he was hired by Data General.

In 2005 Mark co-founded YOUnite, and is a board member and the co-author of patents around distributed personal information sharing. YOUnite is actively working on closing business in online solutions around privacy and controlled information sharing. Mark is also an advisor to Hitachi, Ltd. in the areas of storage and big data. Currently, Mark’s primary role is CTO of BlueChipExec — a distributed information sharing system focusing on job search.

Mark has also worked extensively with offshore development and Cloud deployments.

Hemant Joshi - Business Development and Strategy at Clarice Technologies, Co-founder at Innovize Tech Software

Hemant is a serial software entrepreneur, and brings 21+ years of deep experiential domain knowledge of building tech products for companies based in the Bay Area (USA), UK, and India.

He is a co-founder of nFactorial Software which mentors early stage software product companies. Before starting nFactorial, Hemant was Vice President at Symphony Services, Inc., and was instrumental in building several product teams for companies such as Mimosa, Iron Mountain, NetApps, Avaya, Instantis. He built Symphony’s Enterprise Technology Business Unit client base to 30 customer’s and 750 employees in 4 years. He came to Symphony when they acquired In Reality Software in 2004, a company Hemant co-founded. From 1999–2003, he was Sr. Manager at the India subsidiary of VERITAS Software (now Symantec), where he built and managed a 120+ person global team responsible for clustering and replication products. From 1996 to 1999, he worked in Silicon Valley at various companies such as Hybrid Networks, Stratus Computers and VERITAS. Prior to that, he worked in telecom and network management, where he spent 4 years in the UK.

Hemant has a BE (E& TC) from the College of Engineering, Pune (COEP).

V.R. Satish - Chief Technology Officer, Pavilion Data Systems

VR Satish was most recently Vice President and the Chief Technology Officer for the Storage and Availability Management Group at Symantec Corporation. He has worked in the capacity of engineer and architect for several key products within Veritas and Symantec portfolio including Veritas Cluster Server, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas File System and Veritas Operations Manager. Recently, his focus is architectures for building and operating an “agile data center,” which includes design and development for scale-out storage and recovery as a service.

His current areas of interest include distributed computing, information-centric storage architectures, and virtualization. Satish holds multiple patents in storage management and earned his Master’s degree in computer science from the University of Florida.

Vic Mahadevan - CEO of Dev Solutions

Vic Mahadevan, CEO of Dev Solutions is a Tech Consultant for startups. He was the Chief Strategy Officer for NetApp. In this role, Vic was responsible for leading NetApp’s business strategy and identifying additional market and product opportunities to fuel future growth. He led the company’s strategic planning and business development activities worldwide. Vic was also responsible for driving the strategic planning process,managing acquisitions, and supporting NetApp’s strategic alliances and partnership teams.

Before joining NetApp, Vic served as vice president of marketing for LSI Corporation, where he was responsible for driving all aspects of product management, outbound marketing and business alliances.Prior to LSI Corporation, Vic was chief executive officer for Deeya Energy. He has also held senior management positions with leading storage and systems management companies including BMC Software, Compaq, Ivita, and Maxxan Systems.

Vic holds an MBA in Marketing and MS in Engineering from the University of Iowa as well a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Benson Yeung - Senior Partner & Founder, Triware Networld Systems, LLC

Mr. Yeung has over two decades of IT architecture & security related experience, including extensive experience as an integrator and distributor of IT products and services. In 1991, Mr. Yeung founded Triware Networld Systems, a San Francisco Bay Area IT systems integrator, and in 2000, he founded Triware Networld Solutions, Inc., a San Francisco Bay Area solution provider for IT knowledge management. In 2011, Mr. Yeung co-founded Rocket EMS, Inc. – an aggressive new company specializing in Electronic Manufacturing Services for fast growth high technology companies with a heavy focus in the New Product Introduction (NPI). Since 1991, Mr. Yeung has also been working closely with various VC firms & startups in Silicon Valley as an Investor, Visionary, Strategist and Technology Advisor. In 2015, Mr. Yeung joined Diamond TechVentures, LLC as its Venture Partner.
